Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does Neurodiverse Couples Counseling Cost?

All couples start with a 2-hour intake and then meet weekly for 90 minutes until they meet their goals.

2-hour intake: $500

90-minute session: $335

How Long Does Therapy Take?

It depends. As long as necessary and as short as possible.

Most of the couples that I work with will come in weekly for about two months and then will taper down to every other week as they meet their goals. Of course, this will vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity of the issues as well as how quickly the couple reaches their goals.

Do You Accept My Insurance?

No. For a multitude of reasons, I do not work directly with insurance. Insurance companies do not technically cover couples therapy. I also do not accept insurance because I believe it is important to protect my clients’ privacy.

If requested, I can provide you with a special receipt called a Superbill which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

What Types of Payment Do You Accept?

In-person sessions may be paid in cash at the time of your session. I also accept credit and debit cards as well as HSA and FSA.

Each client is required to place a credit card on file prior to their first session. This information is stored securely in your electronic health record.

Do You Only Work with Neurodiverse Couples?

No. I welcome all couples in my practice. I have experience working with LGBTQIA+ as well as those from various faith backgrounds. This is an anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice.

What If My Partner Won't Agree to Therapy?

I offer support to both neurotypical and neurodivergent alike. While working as a couple is ideal, it is not necessary. There are many skills that I can teach you to help you improve communication and connection in your relationship.

What If My Partner Doesn't Believe They Are Neurodivergent?

Couples therapy is primarily about two things- awareness and communication. I help my clients improve their self-awareness so that they can share more of themselves with their partners. A diagnosis or label is not necessary for this process.

It is sometimes more helpful to simply say, “you tend to see things this way while your partner tends to see them that way… neither of you is wrong, just different.”

This allows us to do the work without the labels.
